Ok- so I'm a slacker when it comes to updating my blog. I promise I have been swamped! Between trips to take Clare to the doctor for the unending ear infection, wiping noses, working for my dad, and spending as much time as possible with Christy and Kai- blog updates were not so high on the to do list.

Reed has been in heaven having Kai living in our neighborhood the last couple weeks. They're renting a house just a few streets from us. I surprised Reed this week by bringing Kai with me to pick him up from school. The teacher guessed it was Kai right away. She said Reed had been talking about Kai all day. (When asked what he was thankful for, Reed said his friends Kai and Matthew.)

Yesterday we went to DFW airport to Welcome the Troops home. This was the 3rd time we'd participated and it just never gets old. It's always an honor and a privilege to give our soilders a hero's welcome home. They are only coming home for 2 weeks of R&R, and then they turn around and go back to Iraq or Afghanistan. It seems like the very least we could do. We went with our lifegroup and my dad came too. Even Clare joined in the fun, waving from atop Grandpa's shoulders!
And if you're on Facebook, find me. It is more frequently updated than my blog these days....
