Reed had his 3 year check up today. He is 36 1/2 pounds and 41 inches tall. That is above the 100% for height, but we're not surprised. He's probably tall for a 4 year old and he just turned 3. He was even brave for his blood test and loves his band-aid to prove it.

I can hardly keep up with Reed. I think this stage now is his home schooling. By the time he's 5- he will have outgrown my knowledge at the rate he's going. He's reading more and more words and his favorite word right now is "Why?"

We had a long conversation the other day that went something like this:

"What are you doing?"

"Working."

"What are you working on?"

"I help Grandpa for my job."

"Why does Grandpa need your help?"

"Well... it's my job."

"Why do you have a job?"

"So we can make money."

"Why do you need money?"

"To pay for things like food and our house and diapers."

"Why?"

"Because we need money to buy those things."

"Why?"

"Because the government says so."

"Why does the government say so?"

"That's just the way it is."

"Why?"

"I don't know. Ask your dad when he gets home!"
