This picture was taken back on Mother's Day, but it's one of my favorites. I also went back and put a few more photos with the Paris updates I wrote below.
Our most exciting thing these days is the webcam my dad got us! We have been able to talk to Christy and Stas and Kai-- and SEE them-- all the way from Estonia! Isn't God awesome!??
Of course Reed doesn't understand where his little friend went and why he hasn't seen him lately. (You should hear me try to explain what a missionary is to a 1 year old!) I wish you could have seen the look on his face when he saw Kai on the computer for the first time. They just stared at each other and waved. Then Reed started babbling at Kai. (And Kai laughed at his funny babble.) Christy moved the webcam around so we could see their new apartment and where Kai plays now.
So now-- to see how the mind of a 1 year old works-- Reed goes running into our computer room waving and saying, "Kai! Kai!" Everytime I'm on the computer now Reed wants up in my lap and he's always waving at the computer. It is so sweet.
Christy has been updating their blog with pictures, prayer requests and updates. Their blog is www.tiede.ministryhome.org
Lastly-- I just have to say that the sermon our pastor gave yesterday was so great. Pastor Pete talked about our kids and how it is the parents job to be their primary spiritual leader. I know Reed's only 1 and we aren't really at the level he was talking about yet, but I just thought it was a good reminder. Even now I hope Greg and I can train ourselves to turn the tv off and put other things aside and not miss opportunities to spend quality time with Reed. If we do it now, he will be more likely to spend time with us when he gets older. I just hope Pete does this sermon again in about 10 years when we'll need a great reminder! :)
