Hop on Hop off
Today we took the "Hop on Hop off" bus around Paris. We had passes with our Paris Pass (Thank the LORD for Jennifer who told us to get one!).
After sleeping in (AGAIN) we hopped on at the Musee de Orsay and rode around the Arc de Triumph and the Eiffel Tower. (Did I mention this is a double decker bus and it was raining? We didn't sit up top for long!)
We hopped off at the Opera House and ran through the rain to go to a big department store- the Galleries Lafeyette. We dined on the 6th floor at a large cafeteria with windows overlooking Paris all around.
Then we hopped back on and went to Saint Chapelle. This church has HUGE stained glass windows on all sides. After a short climb to the top, it was really pretty. It would have been even better on a sunny day.
We hopped back on to the Musee de Orsay. With our pass, we were able to skip the LONG lines and go right in. We viewed lots of Monet, Van Gogh, Pizarro, Picasso and others. Really a nice collection. The museum is in an old train station. It is beautiful, and unlike any other museum we'd ever been in.
Then we realized how exhausted we were! We just had dessert at our little cafe next door and now we have to pack up our things. We leave Paris tomorrow morning. It has been an amazing trip. Everyone should come to Paris at least once in their life.
So for now, au revoir Paris, bon jour Dallas!
